Companies with an annual turnover in excess of £5.6 million require an independent statutory audit - also certain business sectors.

Even if turnover is below £5.6 million an audit is required if the requisite proportion of members request an audit, or an audit is required by the Memorandum or Articles of Association or for any other non-statutory reason.
